The National Payments Corporation of India is introducing a 0.4 percent merchant discount rate on merchant Unified Payments Interface transactions of 75,000 rupees and above, capping the fee at 300 rupees. Sharing details of an Emkay Global Research report, investor Aditya Kondawar points out that specified sectors like railways, telecom, insurance, fuel, and agricultural inputs, which represent approximately 46 percent of transaction value, are carved out under distinct guidelines. This policy change creates a brand new, recurring revenue engine for key payment players like Paytm and Pine Labs, structurally shifting the economics of payment acquisition.

C2C Advanced
M.cap ₹763 Cr
Investors are closely debating C2C Advanced, a company with a market cap of about 763 crore, as skepticism wars with potential. The primary debate centers on whether to trust the company's claims about its products and services, with some calling for independent validation from third parties or MOD people rather than relying on annual reports. While some warn of multiple red flags, others are focused on the immediate trigger of receivable updates. The market currently prices the firm at roughly 19 to 20 times earnings, but if September collections do not land as guided, this multiple could quickly shrink to 12 times.
