Central Mine Planning & Design Institute Limited is a Mini Ratna Category I government enterprise providing end-to-end mining consultancy services across coal and mineral exploration, mine planning, design, and environmental monitoring. Established in 1974 and headquartered in Ranchi, Jharkhand, it operates as a fully owned subsidiary of Coal India Limited with seven regional institutes across India. The company holds approximately 61% market share in India's mining consultancy sector and employs around 900 technical professionals, serving major clients including NTPC, NMDC, and Tata Steel.
