LIC decreased its stake in Coal India Limited from 11.05% to 10.24% by selling 49,650,809 shares worth ₹2038.25 Cr at ₹410.50 apiece. This comes after LIC had increased its shareholding in Coal India from 9.45% to 11.497% through market purchases between October 2017 and December 2025. In 2015, LIC also bought 28.47 crore shares (4.51% stake) in Coal India's offer for sale for an estimated ₹10,200 crore.
